The Paper Heart

November 14, 2009

This was a project for our course called writing for animation.  We had to apply the principles of the hero’s journey formula and write a story derived from our own childhood memory.
When I was young, I was given this paper heart and was told to colour one part for every good deed that I had done. When the heart was fully coloured, I had to put it up on my Christmas tree. However I don’t remember finishing the heart, I cant even remember what I did with the heart and that is what I regret.
The point of this story is the about the strong association between the paper heart and the real heart of a little girl. The piece of paper turned out to be much more real than just a piece of paper.

suggestion – dont give away the story in your description – ruins the ‘climax’ for the audience
