Hearsch Bakery a design intervention opportunity preview

May 14, 2009

Hearsch Bakery located about 2 feet from my house was my topic for the second sem jury. Hearsch has been around Bandra for more than 7 decades. It grew from just a common Bakery to what is today a popular food joint for people of all ages. My job was to understand Hearsch as a business and to try and find areas through which they could capitalize and grow. I started out by wondering why they haven’t used all the land surrounding their shop only to realize after having finished my project , that the land does not belong to them. So a little mistake there, it happenes :P… Other than that I did come out with some other solutions which could be of some use to them.

Hey Raph…your Uncles business…It was a small project that I had made some presumptions about ….esp the land surrounding it, some of my design solutions included increasing the brand identity around the place so that new folks would be able to locate it easily and others included making use of the space around it for a drive in…and trying to solve the space problems inside the shop especially during rush hours….However didnt show it to them…its just lying around with me …:S
