Akanksha annual General body meeting 2009

Akanksha’s Annual General Body meeting was held on the 25th of April.  I was invited by Jahanvi Patel  who played an integral part in the planning and designing of the event.  Akanksha, an NGO helps in educating street children.

The organization has been around for over 20 years and is now partnering with Teach for India to achieve even more success in the field of education.  My mum teaches them Art and Delwyn has been a volunteer this past year.  Both have been truly fulfilled by spending a little time with these kids.  As for me, witnessing the results that some of these kids have achieved at the SSC and HSC level made me really proud.  I couldn’t achieve that in a regular school and they have been able to do so with so much adversity around them.  It’s a true testament to the effort put in by everyone in the organization.

Hi. I met these children for a project we were doing for the Microsoft IQPC. Two kids in the eleventh, really bright. They loved Akanksha. One wanted to grow up and be a teacher.
